Beyoncé has revealed that she will release a new album titled Renaissance Act II on March 29. The announcement came as a surprise to millions of viewers who watched a Verizon commercial featuring the singer during the Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday (February 11).

The ad, which also starred actor Tony Hale, showed Beyoncé attempting various stunts to break the internet, before dropping the bombshell news of her new music project.

“Okay, they ready. Drop the new music,” she tells Tony Hale at the end of the ad. Watch it below.

“Renaissance Act II” is the second installment of a trilogy of albums that Beyoncé conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic, following the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Renaissance, which came out in July 2022. The new album is expected to have a country theme, as hinted by the two lead singles that the music icon released shortly after the Super Bowl ad: “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages”. The cover art for both songs feature Beyoncé wearing a cowboy hat.

In December, Beyonce released a new single titled My House to commemorate the “opening weekend” of the Renaissance tour film which followed the music superstar on her 39-date world tour of the Grammy-winning album.
