Kanye West released Donda 2 on February 23, 2022, exclusively on his Stem Player device. The album executive-produced by Future was originally scheduled to arrive on 22 February but was pushed back for unknown reasons.
“Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player,” Ye wrote on his Instagram post. “Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own.”
The artist formerly known as Kanye West initially premiered DONDA 2 at an event in Miami on February 22. The event held at LoanDepot Park featured posthumous vocals from XXXTentacion, as the rapper danced near a flaming house while wading through water.
On other tracks, Ye sampled US vice president Kamala Harris’ “we did it, Joe” phone call, and a sample of Kim Kardashian’s SNL monologue about the “Eazy” rapper, saying: “So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”
Serving as the follow-up to his tenth studio album, Donda 2 includes appearances from Alicia Keys, Baby Keem, Vory, Fivio Foreign, The Game, and Soulja Boy. While the album is available exclusively on Ye’s $200 Stem Player devices, fans of the Yeezy rapper can download Donda 2 here.
