Are A$AP Rocky and Drake beefing? It certainly seems that way, given their recent exchanges over Rihanna. However, Rocky downplayed the intensity in a recent interview with Billboard.
On Thursday, August 22, Billboard released its latest cover story featuring A$AP Rocky, where he discussed his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb (now delayed to the fall), as well as topics like fashion, fatherhood, and Rihanna. During the interview, Rocky also addressed his back-and-forth with Drake and dismissed the notion of any serious feud. He stated: “I ain’t in the middle of that sht. That’s not how I retaliate right now. I got bigger fish to fry than some pu*y boys.”
He continued, “There’s real beef out there. It’s real. N*ggas are getting clipped and blitzed every day. N*ggas are sniping n***s every day. That little kitty sht isn’t about anything.”
The tension between Drake and Rocky has been simmering for months. Last year, Drake appeared to take a jab at Rihanna on the song “Fear of Heights,” leading Rocky to respond on several tracks, including “Wow” and “Show of Hands.” Drake retaliated with “Family Matters,” and the exchange continued with Rocky’s recent release, “Highjack.”
Most recently, Drake took the last shot with his track “It’s Up.” While the exchange of disses has caught public attention, Rocky made it clear that he’s not overly concerned about it.
