In the aftermath of the shocking $30 million lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, accusing him of rape and years of abuse, Diddy now finds himself at the center of a criminal investigation by the NYPD. According to TMZ, the investigation, kept confidential, is allegedly linked to sexual assault, although it remains unclear if Cassie Ventura made the complaint.
In an official statement, the NYPD reiterated its commitment to addressing sexual assault and rape cases, encouraging victims to come forward and file police reports to facilitate thorough investigations and provide support services.
The publication also claims sources informed them that there is an active, open case under the name, “Sean Combs.” However, the case file is reportedly “locked,” and access to any information is restricted.
TMZ’s inquiries across different jurisdictions, including Miami, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles – locations mentioned in Ventura’s lawsuit – yielded no other police reports or investigations related to Diddy or Ventura. The case file reportedly remains inaccessible.
News broke on Thursday (November 16) that Cassie who dated Diddy for more than a decade had field a $30 million lawsuit against the Bad Boys Recording Founder. In the lawsuit, the singer alleges that Diddy r*ped and beat her over a period of a decade.
“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Cassie said in a statement released by her legal team, Douglas H. Wigdor, Meredith A. Firetog and Michael J. Willemin of Wigdor LLP. “With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.”
Diddy’s legal team, led by lawyer Ben Brafman, vehemently denies the allegations, framing Cassie’s lawsuit as an attempt to extort $30 million after failed attempts to secure it by threatening to write a damaging book about their relationship.
As the investigation into Diddy’s alleged abuse unfolds, the music mogul is facing intensified scrutiny on social media. The hashtag #SurvivingDiddy has quickly become a trending topic on Twitter, where fans are discussing the accusations and reflecting on Diddy’s history.
One person wrote, “Cassie isn’t even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Diddy’s nasty ass. I’m praying his male victims have the courage to come forward too and I’m not just talking about Usher! I feel like surviving Diddy will be worse than R Kelly.”
Another person added, “The Surviving Diddy documentary is gonna be ten times worse than R Kelly’s. Diddy’s influence and power stretch all through the industry. And there are TONS of others that knew, saw, and heard what was going on and did absolutely NOTHING. It’s going to get UGLY.”
