UPDATE: Drake earns his 13th No. 1 album as For All the Dogs debuts atop the Billboard 200 albums chart. The effort released on October 6 earned 402,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in it’s opening week. The rapper is now one No. 1 album away from tying Jay-Z as the soloist and rapper with the most No. 1 albums in Billboard 200 history.

(previous story) Drake’s new album, “For All the Dogs,” is gearing up for a strong debut week, with sales projections between 400,000 and 450,000 copies, as reported by HitsDailyDouble. The projections are a huge improvement from his last solo album Honestly, Nevermind, which sold 204,000 in its first seven days.

Should “For All the Dogs” hit the projected sales range, it will mark the fourth biggest album debut of the year, trailing behind Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” (716,000), Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” (501,000), and Travis Scott’s “UTOPIA” (477,000).

Released on Friday with an unconventional 6 am drop time, “For All The Dogs” was received with glee by devoted Drake fans. Spotify revealed the album recorded a staggering 108.7 million streams on their platform, making it the 7th biggest debut in Spotify history.

Additionally, the album’s standout track, “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole, is currently headed for a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. If it does debut atop the chart, it will become Drake’s 13th number one album of his career, tying Michael Jackson’s record as the male soloist with the most No. 1 hits in Hot 100 history.

Also featuring guest appearances from 21 Savage, Yeat, PARTYNEXTDOOR, SZA, Lil Yachty, Bad Bunny, Sexyy Red, among others, For All The Dogs is available everywhere.
