Jay-Z was recently heckled by a man notorious for riling up celebrities. The man, who has had encounters with the likes of Floyd Mayweather and LeBron James, approached the rap billionaire while he was out with his security team.
“Hey Hov, I’m taking that $500k,” the man said, referring to the age-old debate: would you rather have dinner with Jay-Z or $500K?
The man continued, “I ain’t taking that dinner, I’m taking that $500k. You feel me? It’s love, though.”
Jay-Z seemed confused by the encounter, but he simply smiled, gave the fan a fist bump, and walked away.
The debate over whether to choose dinner with Jay-Z or $500,000 has been raging for years. Some people believe that the opportunity to meet and dine with one of the most successful rappers of all time is priceless, while others believe that the money would be more beneficial in the long run.
Other rappers have also weighed in on the debate. 21 Savage said that he would take both dinner and the money, while Lil Durk said that he would choose dinner with Jay-Z over $30 million.
Back in 2021, Tidal, the music streaming service formerly owned by Jay-Z, tweeted, “Take The $500K.” Many social media users at the time speculated that the tweet was a direct response from Jay-Z himself.
