What Happened To Edot Baby? Age, Cause Of Death & Last Words Revealed

New York rapper Edot Baby sadly passed away on November 4, 2022 at the young of 17 after committing suicide. According to reports, the rising drill rapper shot himself in the head following an alleged lengthy battle with mental health issues. 

Edot was rushed to a nearby hospital in Harlem, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Shortly after the news of his passing became public, New York artist DD Osama expressed his sadness on Twitter with a heartbreak emoji.

His close friend and “FTW” collaborator Sha EK wrote on his Instagram stories, “Damn my baby boy this sh-t hurt [I don’t even want to perform].” 

Edot Baby, born Elijah Irvin on February 6 2005 was raised in the Sugar Hill section of Harlem alongside his older siblings. Although he maintained a relationship with both his parents, he was mostly raised by his sister, Tiffany, whom he described as a “mother figure” in his life.

Edot went to Community Health Academy of the Heights in Northern Manhattan, but was transferred to Middle School 324 after getting into fights at the school yard. He eventually completed his high school education at the Capital Preparatory in Harlem. 

Edot impacted the drill scene in 2020 at the age of 15 when he dropped his song called “Ready 4 War.” In March, the late rapper gave fans more music including songs like “War Cry,” and “Different Sh-t.” He dropped his debut EP “The Baby In The Game” in 2020 and followed it with his debut album, E With The Dot,” released in 2022.

The “Friday Night” lyricists followed up with a project later that year titled “You Started I Finished” on September 30th. 

The circumstances surrounding Edot Baby’s death are not exactly clear, but Edot’s sister believes the late rapper was set up by his girlfriend. She called out  Edot’s girlfriend for not attending his funeral and claimed she made a list of items to grab from his house, most of which were worth a lot of money.
