Azealia Banks, known for her social media controversies, is back in the spotlight, this time targeting A$AP Rocky. This comes after former A$AP mob member A$AP Relli alleged in court that Rocky attempted to have him killed.
In response to the trial, Banks shared a screenshot of a TMZ headline covering the story, asserting that A$AP Rocky is “guilty” of the accusations. Additionally, she raised questions about his sexuality, alleging that he is gay.
“Rocky is guilty,” Banks wrote. “Nobody knows that asap rocky was just an ashy butch queen with a Dominican perm when he first came to Harlem. [A$AP] Relli and Knocka were the two who actually convinced him to rap. Rocky is still the [same] swagless undercover throat goat he’s been since we were teenagers.”
In addition to questioning his sexuality, the 212 rapper questioned why Rocky doesn’t get the same treatment as Chris Brown, despite his own alleged history of beating women. “Rocky is also seen on camera kicking a female fan in the face and got no backlash for it. Rihanna actually started the fight in the car with Chris brown but we tossed Chris brown to the curb – without even asking to see photos of what he looked like after the fight.”
Banks’ comments come amidst Rocky’s ongoing trial for the alleged shooting of A$AP Relli in 2021. Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron testified on Wednesday that Rocky had shot him after a falling out and alleged face-off.
According to Relli, Rocky set up a meeting in an obscure location in central Hollywood on November 6 “to discuss a disagreement between the two of them.”
“Unbeknownst to Mr. Ephron, A$AP Rocky was not just planning for a conversation and came armed with a semi-automatic handgun,” reads a statement to Rolling Stone by Relli’s attorneys Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz.
“After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued whereby without provocation, warning, or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the handgun and intentionally fired multiple shots at Mr. Ephron.”
Relli claims one of the bullets “grazed his left hand,” causing him to suffer injuries to his hand that required medical attention.
Rocky has pleaded not guilty to all charges
