Boosie Claims R. Kelly Would “Smoke” Michael Jackson In A Verzuz

Must Read

Boosie Badazz has once again ignited a fiery debate by expressing his unwavering support for R. Kelly, claiming that the disgraced R&B singer would be untouchable in a Verzuz battle, even if pitted against the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

During an Instagram Live session with his fans on Sunday (August 13), the Baton Rouge native confidently argued that R. Kelly possesses such an extensive collection of hits that he could single-handedly challenge an entire music streaming platform and emerge victorious.

“Nobody has more hits than R. Kelly. You’d have to put him in a Verzuz against Spotify,” Boosie emphasized.

He then turned his attention to Michael Jackson, Boosie provocatively asserted that R. Kelly would outshine the late music icon in a direct hit-for-hit showdown. “Hit for hit, he would outshine Michael Jackson,” Boosie stated, further challenging his audience to consider the number of recognizable tracks from both artists.

“How many Michael Jackson songs you know and how many R Kelly songs you know?” he continued. “Aint nobody got more hits than Kellz. Y’all don’t wanna keep it real ‘cause he in the position he in,” hinting that biases stemming from the artist’s legal troubles may cloud fair judgment.

This isn’t the first time Boosie has voiced such controversial opinions. In a 2022 interview with VladTV, the rapper stood by his conviction that R. Kelly is unmatched in hit battles. “He would smoke anybody ass in the world, they know that. That n***a would moonwalk the sh*t off Michael Jackson, everybody know that, they just won’t admit it… Who got more hits than him?” Boosie said daringly.

Boosie’s allegiance to R. Kelly has been steadfast, even in the face of the singer’s legal troubles. Following R. Kelly’s conviction on multiple sex crimes, Boosie criticized the severity of the sentence. He took to Twitter, expressing his belief that while R. Kelly’s actions were undeniably wrong, the imposed 30-year sentence was excessively harsh.

“People getting 15/20 years for murder n he get 30,” Bossie tweeted after Kelly’s sentence was announced. “Yes he was wrong af for manipulating young girls n sexing them but he didn’t kill anyone, aggravated rape anyone .N no blame on the parents who knew everything. Boosie continued. “Get this man some help n some jail time but don’t give him a death sentence ,30 years Maybe he can one get out one day n warn these young girls about older predators n make a difference ?but 30 years like Come on world.”
