UPDATE: “Business Is Business” is now projected to sell 87k in its opening week. This is not a good look for Young Thug.

The first week sales projections for Young Thug’s new album Business Is Business are in. According to HitsDailyDouble, the Atlanta-bred rapper’s first full-length release since 2021’s “Punk” is expected to move between 95K and 110k first week.

The projections are quite underwhelming when you consider Gunna, who is supposedly blackballed sold 83k with A Gift & A Curse. The “Pushin P” hitmaker also had no features on his album while Thug pulled out all the stops for his project.

Days before the album’s arrival, Young Thug put fans on high alert when he shared a cryptic QR code on his Instagram account. Several of his close friends in the industry, including Drake, Future, Coi Leray and Metro Boomin also posted the code on their social media accounts

The code led fans to a website with a countdown, which was later disclosed to be a release date for a new musical content from Thug, who remains behind bars on racketeering charges.

Released this past Friday, “Business Is Business” featured collaborations with Drake, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert and Future. The album is available for streaming here.

It’s yet to be seen if Young Thug’s projected numbers would be enough to snatch the number one spot from Morgan Wallen.
