Gunna ‘A Gift & A Curse’ First Week Sales Projections

Must Read

Gunna defied the odds with the release of his new album ‘A Gift & A Curse.’ The album was his first project since being released from jail late last year after accepting a plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

Due to the snitching allegations on his head, as well as a supposed boycott from Industry connects, naysayers predicted Gunna’s career was over and that he was going to have a tough time selling records.

That doesn’t seem to be the case as HitsDailyDouble projects his new album is on pace to sell 78k copies in its first week, and will debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing At A Time” album.

AG&AC’s projected 78k is a big drop from the 150K Drip Season 4ever did in its first week. Nevertheless, rap hasn’t really been moving much weight this year, so it’s uncertain if the dip in sales has anything to do with the alleged boycott.

Lil Durk’s 125K for “Almost Healed” is one of the highest selling rap albums released so far and the effort still failed to hit the number one spot, despite features from big names like J. Cole, Morgan Wallen, Future, Kodak Black and the late Juice WRLD.

Released on Friday (June 16), Gunna ensured his voice was heard on the 15-track featureless effort. Throughout the album the Georgia native opened up about his struggles and addressed the snitching allegations labeled at him on songs like “Bread & Butter,” “I Was Just Thinking,” “Back to the Moon” and “Alight.”
