Eminem has discussed recent rumors about a potential collaborative album with 50 Cent. The Detroit legend expressed surprise at the speculation during a phone conversation with DJ Whookid on SiriusXM’s Shade 45, asking, “Where’d that come from? I don’t know whose idea that was but that’s crazy.”

Eminem did however confirm he’s been trying to get 50 Cent to record another studio album, as his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, was released nearly a decade ago.

“I’m trying to get him to make another album so bad. We need another 50 album, like really bad. Fif is on a roll right now. He’s been on a roll since the tour.”

As far as the possibility of him and 50 forming a duo for a full-length project, Em left the door open. “Whatever he needs from me, I’m here. That sh*t would be crazy though, an album with me and him.”

50 Cent and Eminem share a close bond that traces back to 2002 when the Detroit legend signed the NYC rapper to his Shady Records label. Over the years, they have worked on several songs together including “Patiently Waiting” and “Don’t Push Me” from 50 Cent’s classic debut album ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.”

During an interview with Men’s Health, 50 Cent spoke about Eminem’s profound influence on his life and career, “[Eminem] is one of the most important people to me and to my career. He offered me a safe place, he just never participated in anything negative, I guess he just wanted me to win the entire time.”

A collaboration between Eminem and 50 Cent may well be a possibility in the future, but for now the 51-year-old is currently nursing a heartbreak from his beloved Detroit Lions’ defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship on Sunday (Jan. 28). The Lions, making their first NFC Championship appearance since 1991, suffered a setback, losing 34-31 after a 17-point halftime lead was overshadowed by a 27-7 second-half deficit.

Before the game, Eminem emphasized his singular focus on the Lions’ championship aspirations, revealing, “My life is literally on pause right now until this sh*t is all said and done. Our team is amazing right now. We can’t change anything. I don’t even wanna change the f**kng hat I wore last week. Like whenever we win, I’m so superstitious bro, I be wearing the same underwear all year. I haven’t changed them one time.”
