Last month, Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion. As discussions continue online regarding Lanez’s actual involvement, recent reports suggest that the Toronto native declined an opportunity to significantly reduce his sentence.

While these reports are not yet unverified, it’s alleged that the district attorney presented Tory Lanez with a plea deal that would have resulted in a four-year prison term. However, Lanez, now 34, staunchly asserted his innocence in the case, firmly denying any involvement in the shooting of Megan Pete, known as Megan Thee Stallion.

Opting to go through a trial instead, Lanez’s defense faced a significant setback when an eyewitness testified that they saw him firing shots at Megan and Kelsey Harris during the incident.

Having spent around seven months behind bars, Lanez has submitted a motion to appeal his sentence and has concurrently sought bail.

Earlier this month, details from the ‘Chixtape’ artist’s bail motion were released by Meghann Cuniff. The motion disclosed that Lanez has since married his fiancée, Raina Chassagne, who is also the mother of his six-year-old son. It further stated that if Lanez were to be granted release, he would reside in the Los Angeles area with his wife and child.
